Summary
Bodog Poker is the newest endeavor of one of the largest online sports betting and casinos Bodog.com. Its original site “The Sportsbook, was established in 1995 in San Jose, Costa Rica. In 1999, the online casino was added, and in September of 2004 the launched Bodog Poker. Their sized is still comparatively small compared to other online poker rooms, but is rapidly growing larger. Since its launch Bodog Poker has carried a highly active promotional campaign targeting the younger audience from everything from bikini model calendars, to big name celebrities. Action in the poker room is extremely lively, in fact some players have been quoted as calling the site “a gold mine”. One feature unique to Bodog, instead of opting for a “sign up bonus” Bodog Poker has a %10 bonus, available up front to play with, on all deposits made into the poker room both initial and reloads. Security at Bodog is top notch, with added features to prevent player collusion, and preserve player privacy. Customer support at Bodog is good, includes both online and phone services. In total, Bodog Poker is still small, but has all the right tools to become a major contender in online poker.
Software & Graphics
Software at Bodog is considered slightly better than average in overall usability. Graphics have a clean look and feel, and software speed appears to be top notch with no recorded problems as of yet. Bodog Poker uses a modified version of MicroPower’s in-house software, custom tailored to fit Bodog’s unique look and feel. Standard software features include, extended table statistics, avatar uploads, player hand history, and chat capability.
Traffic
As of now traffic at Bodog is very poor, carrying only around 600-700-player peak.
